I had been here before in 2000 on a RS tour and I knew exactly what I wanted to do ... take a good photo of Mad Ludwig's castle and ride the Tegelberg Luge which was close and convenient.
After we got settled in our own rooms our wonderful tour manager, Mary, offered to take some of us to the bike rental shop so we could avoid doing it early the next morning because our lovely hotel had a separate bike room. Perfect for an early start the next day.
After getting my bike early evening after we arrived, I decided to ride out to the Royal Crystal Baths across the valley and soak my aching bones from the horseback ride!! Haha! When I got there, which was a Friday evening ... I discovered it was nude night. Glad it's no big deal in Europe, but that was just a little to intimate for me ... so I rode back across the valley to Füssen and had a delicious meal.
The next morning I peddled my way up to Mary's Bridge to get a photo with morning light hitting Neuschwanstein Castle. Yea .... I was a bit out of breath ... but so worth it. Then off to Tegelberg to play on the luge awhile, then take the tram up the mountain and watch the para gliders take off. Absolutely spectacular weather with incredible views in every direction ... again!
Another fabulous dinner in town and it was another perfect visit to this beautiful area!
This was another amazing room as you can see in the photo below!! For days 5 & 6 of the My Way Tour we stayed at the beautiful Hotel Hirsch Füssen centrally located in Füssen ... and an easy bike ride to the castles.
This was definitely a stunning room ... complete with violin strings behind my pillow. WoW! And you'll see the view from my big window below. Lovely accommodations!
